Okay, here is Jan 5. There just isn't much of interest in Jan in Ohio. Unless, of course, you consider fog, gray skies, rain and/or snow interesting. No color, just blahhhhh. I need some color especially now that all the beautiful Christmas lights are gone and nothing really breaks up the blahhhh. This carousel was built smack in the center of our downtown. Matter of fact, it is just up the street from Mickey. The powers that be felt that this would rejuvenate our downtown area. In some ways it has. They restored many of the downtown buildings and it is very quaint downtown. The carousel, as you can tell is beautiful and is functioning all year long. It is surrounded by garage style doors that in the summer can be pulled up letting the outside in. When it was being built, a company was here that actually carved and painted the animals and you could go watch them work. Pretty fabulous actually. Thought this was a much brighter picture to share than drap gray everything else. Maybe this week I can get downtown and get some pics of some of the restored buildings. Here's till tomorrow.

That is really a fantastic carousel. There aren't that many things around anymore that are actually hand crafted.

Would have been great like you say to see the craftsmen at work.

This wee our inchy project challenge involves horses..and especially carousel horses... perfect. I am stealing a shot of the one with the horses heads...
